The event brought together 218 players from 33 federations.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/app.fide.com\/upload\/21792\/2de40e0d504f583cda7465979f958a98.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p><p>The seventh seed Frederik Svane got off to a flying start winning five straight games, but his main rivals \u2013 the rating favourite\u00a0<strong>Shant Sargsyan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Evgeny Romanov<\/strong>\u00a0and his older brother<strong>\u00a0Rasmus Svane<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 trailed by just a half-point.<\/p><p>Romanov caught up with Svane soon, and the leaders clashed in Round 7. Frederik pulled off a crucial victory with the white pieces, regained the lead and kept it to the end.<\/p><p>Frederik Svane (pictured below) finished with two draws and came clear first with 7.5\/9, while as many as five players tied for the second on 7\/9.
